It felt like a promise of immortality,
that dream I had.
The dream where we were flying
over the meadow, completely free
of gravity.
The air was mellow, the soil
smelled good.
My thoughts were carried away
by the wind, as it was pushing
me higher and higher.
The sun warmed my tiny
body.

I was no longer burdened by the weight of

my human form.
I felt as though I could go
anywhere, do anything,
and be anything I wanted
to be.
And for that brief, beautiful
moment, nothing in the world
could hold me back.

This work is part of the series Tiny Healing Hands premiered as a multimedia installation at Svigrúm Gallery (Reykjavík, Iceland) curated by Yulia Vasilieva in 2022.

Andrej Beštak and Anja Leko are an artist duo from Zagreb, Croatia. They consider themselves spatial storytellers: with the interplay of image and sound, through installation, performance, and video they create an emotional dialog between the artwork and the audience. They tell stories that unfold from our contemporary experience in which urban mythologies, spiritual experiences, and club culture merge with individualism, materialism, and global capitalism. They like to take paths that are light, goofy, and sometimes cartoony to tell stories that they find serious and heavy to digest.
